The Blessing

It is hard to hear sometimes but many of us act like spoiled little children, complaining about this and that and we often come across like we deserve better than this but the reality is that we do not. What we deserve is hell...but we are the recipients of grace and with such grace we do not have to pay the price for our rebelious hearts or actions.

This week I am taking two classes at Western Seminary and the first class is taught by Gary Thomas. The first hour of class really got me thinking because he stated, "Have eyes to see the blessings that are all around us. Things are too common and we just stop seeing the blessings." Gary went on to say, "We deserve hell—anything less than that is a pretty good day. Every moment outside of hell is a gift from God…We have a sense of entitlement and what we are entitled to is hell."

We have so much to be thankful for along with constant reminders of what God has done for us. But we are wired to be dependant on Him. He gives us hunger to remind us to fill our souls with spiritual food.
