• Be clear in leadership.
• The Most High is sovereign over the kingdoms of men and He gives them to whom he wishes.
• We believe that it is all about us…You get a lot of attention.
• People love to follow leaders who don’t like to be up on a pedestal
• This is combated by getting on your knees and admitting that The Most High is sovereign over the kingdoms of men and He gives them to whom He wishes.
• A little attention can take us off center.
• We often forget
• Story of Nebuchadnezzar Dan.4:4
o Content and Prosperous
o Disturbing dream about a tree.
o Vs. 17 so that the living may know…the most high is sovereign over the kingdoms of men.
o Daniel Interpreted—but was so alarmed
o Nebby you’re the tree. v.24
o Point: Leadership is stewardship its temporary…and your accountable.
o v.29 12 months later. Selfish attitude shows thru.
o v.31 Voice from heaven—your authority has been taken from you!
o Do you believe all God’s ways are Just?
• He is able to humble leaders
o 40 years later King Nabanituts retired and gave kingdom over to Belchazar. Cyrus the Persian attacks.
o Hand appears and writes on the wall…
o Belchazar offers Daniel the number 3 position in the kingdom if he reads the writing. 5:17
o Daniel Tells the king to keep the gifts and rewards but will still read the writing.
o The Most High God is sovereign over the Kingdoms of men and he gives them to whom He wishes.
o You Belchazar, did not humble yourself
o The Writing:
• Many Many Takeo Parez
• Many Many-God has numbered the days of your reign and brought it to an end
• Implication: Your leadership was on load—temporary.
• Takeo- You have been weighed on the scales and found wanting.
• Implication: You are accountable
• Parez- Your kingdom has been divided and given to the meeds and Persians.
• Implication: Its Over!
• Great or not: The most High God is sovereign over the kingdoms of men and He gives them to Whom He wishes.
o Diligent, Fearless and Humble
• Get up every morning and lead with Diligence
• Lead with all your heart
• Jesus is going to build his church…we are subs…
• Fearless: Who should fear?
• Deacons might fire me. You still think that they are the ones who put you there.
• God put you in place, for a purpose…Your working for God not man…Need not fear anybody.
• Humble:
• Moses…its your nation God.
• David
• John-got out of Jesus’ way.
• Humble towards God and His Sovereignty
• Greed and arrogance is hard to see in yourself
• Declare to God that: “You are the most High God who is sovereign over the kingdoms of the earth and you can give this ministry to who ever you want.
